Hello there my wonderful Beau's I have missed you all I am here to give you some tips on how to take care of your skin the Korean way. We all know that every Korean star and Idol have to take care of their face they have to stay presentable in front of fans and millions of camera's. I’m sure we all want that too, we sometimes envy them because of their soft pore less skin. I consider myself one of them who always desire their skin. Well let me tell you something that you didn’t know about Korean people do in their daily lives to keep that skin perfect! without using Photoshop.

Should we get started?

VAMONOS!

1. Sun Exposure

Koreans hate the sun, it’s their worst enemy. That’s why they wear hats, glasses anything that has sleeves so they don’t get burned. Here’s are some little facts about sun exposure,

Radiation from the sun is the number-one cause of skin cancer, but UV light from tanning beds is just as harmful. Exposure to sunlight during the winter months puts you at the same risk as exposure during the summertime, because UVA rays are present in daylight.

• Pre-cancerous (actinic keratosis) and cancerous (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma) skin lesions - due to decreases in the skin's immune function

• Benign tumors

• Fine and coarse wrinkles

• Freckles

• Discolored areas of the skin

• Sallowness -- a yellow discoloration of the skin

• Telangiectasias -- the dilation of small blood vessels under the skin

• Elastosis -- the destruction of the elastic and collagen tissue (causing lines, wrinkles and sagging skin)

What can you do to prevent all these?

2. Sun screen

Yes I just said it! Sun screen is their best friend, they butter themselves up with sunblock the higher SPF protection it has the better, because being pale has never been great!

Sunscreen forms a barrier between your skin and the UV rays of the sun, the higher the SPF the more protection the sunscreen offers. You can still tan if you use a SPF15 but if you use for example an SPF40 you will have total protection. Many facial moisturizers now have SPF15 as standard, this offers a light daily protection for your skin. Being exposed to UV rays in summer increases the melanin in your skin and brings it to the surface causing a light pigmentation or "tan". If the sun exposure is decreased the tan fades and your skin returns to its natural level of pigmentation. Obviously in winter there is less sun so that's why they’re paler in winter.

What are the top five reasons everyone should wear sunscreen?

1. The ozone layer is depleting and your body needs shielding from harmful rays.

2. Skin cancer rates are on the rise and sunscreen has been proven to decrease the development of skin cancer.

3. It helps to prevent facial brown spots and skin discolorations.

4. It also helps to reduce the appearance of facial red veins and blotchiness.

5. It slows down the development of wrinkled, premature aging skin.

Another important thing that is a must for every Korean is,

3. Dermatologist’s

Let me tell you it is normal for guys to go there, when I first heard this from my friend I couldn’t believe him. It’s a guy!! Korean men do whatever it takes just to look good, I mean for us in the States going to a dermatologist is because you suffer from a skin problem well for them it’s not always that. They go there for facials, for freckle removals and even for brightening the skin! It’s crazy how they really take care of themselves. No wonder they have wonderful and radiant skin.

SOME OF THE BIGGEST SKIN CARE CONCERNS THAT PEOPLE HAVE IN KOREA:

Patients want to decrease hyperpigmentation and increase skin “translucency.” Skin tightening and reducing acne scarring are close seconds, and women are downright nitpicky about it. “Women here demand 100% absolutely flawless and pristine skin,” “Women put a lot of effort into maintaining perfect skin.” Doctors end up performing and recommending many more treatments than here in the U.S., because women want these interventions. Because it’s so competitive for services, prices stay relatively low.

So basically they have to go every two weeks to the dermatologist to have their skin treated, no wonder they have flawless skin. Plus the prices in Korea are outrageously cheap compared here in the States. The going rate for a "cheaper" dermatologist here in the States is typically between $100 and $170 per visit. An "expensive" dermatologist might charge upwards of $200. Compared to Korea $44.80 for an acne treatment and for Age spot removals are about $89.61.

Take my money NOW!! Say no more I am moving to Korea!

If you cannot afford these then there are other ways,

4. Whitening does not mean bleaching or that everybody Korean wants to be white.Tons of Korean products “whitening” as a benefit.

This does not mean you are going to bleach your skin or that you are going to start looking more like a white person or that Koreans have an ultimate goal of having white skin. In this case, whitening is synonymous with brightening, and essentially all Korean products that offer “whitening” are basically vitamin C-based rejuvenators and brighteners, not skin bleaches. Get it right people!

5. Buy a nylon washcloth.

Like these. Sure, they’re made in Japan. Whatever. It’s an essential for any Korean skincare regimen, and every Korean you know either uses one or grew up with their mom using one. It’s gentle enough to exfoliate your body every day, and you can use it with any body wash you like. Your skin will feel satisfyingly clean and smooth. These are available in any Korean general store in your local Ktown (Or maybe even closer! or you can buy them online. These washcloths will keep you fresh in between body scrubs.

6. Get naked, and get a body scrub.

Get to Koreatown, and to the jimjilbang of your choice for a full body scrub. You don’t need a Korean friend to take you. Yelp is ripe with reviews of jimjilbang, or bath houses, and can help you find one that fits your style. Generally, you’ll soak in various tubs, get naked, and then be escorted to a special area to have an older, no-nonsense Korean ajumma scrub you from head to toe with a special exfoliating cloth, called a “Korean Italy towel.” The genesis of the name? Who knows? I do know you will lose 18 lbs in dead skin cells, and if you can get over your bashfulness of having an old Korean lady scrubbing intimately in all of your crevices, you will like it.

7. The Golden Korean Skin Care Steps

1. Toners

Are used after cleansing, to balance the Ph of your skin. These are neutralizing products to help prepare your skin for the products to come. This is not the stripping-oil-weird-tingly-sensation toners we remember from puberty. They can be splashed or spritzed on your face and patted on lightly with your fingertips.

2. Essences

are the next step, after your skin is primed by a toner. They are lightweight and have a specific agenda: brightening, tightening, moisturizing, etc. Can be used solo or in conjunction with serums.

3. Serums, or ampoules,

operate much like serums in Western brands. They are the unglamorous workhorses of skincare. They are heavier than essences and used to pack major beauty-enhancing punch. Tons of different serums are available depending on what you’re prioritizing, such as anti-aging or brightening or what have you. Use this as third step.

4. Next come emulsions.

Basically a featherweight moisturizer. If you have, say, oily skin and will not see the sun all day, this might serve as your only moisturizer. But since Koreans live and die by moisture and sunscreen, this will very rarely be your last step.

5. Cream.

There are day creams, there are night creams, there are so many creams.

I hope you all enjoyed this segment and I hope you all try this! because I will ! even PSY approves this message lol! this has been it till next card make sure to subscribe to our Kbeauty and KFashion section for more Updates on skincare!

Hasta la vista beau's!
